I extend my greetings to everyone here today, especially the Honorable Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Oluwade. I commend him for his dynamic leadership.
Greetings to members of the African Scholars Care Initiative, representatives of the FCT Women Affairs Secretariat, Honorable James Lalu, the Deputy Secretary General for African Affairs, Dr. Osita Okonkwo of Nutrition International, honored guests, parents, guardians, and children.
Today, we celebrate the Day of the African Child, focusing on this year's theme, "Education for All, Children in Africa, The Time is Now." Education is a fundamental right and key to a prosperous future. However, nutrition is equally crucial for effective education. Well-nourished children perform better academically and have the energy needed for learning, while malnutrition hinders their development.
We appreciate the efforts of the African Scholars Care Initiative and the FCT Women Affairs Secretariat for their dedication and support. Their collaboration showcases the benefits of combining education with essential health and nutrition support.
Let us renew our commitment to providing every child in Africa with quality education and proper nutrition. Advocate for supportive policies, raise community awareness, and work together to create environments where children can thrive. The time to act is now for the future of Africa.
Thank you all for attending. Thank you, children, for being here. Continue to learn, strive, and maintain good character. Thank you.
